I have been researching this disease because i have been trying basically to diagnose myself. i have struggled for years with my symptoms and just assumed that it was ibs until recently when my pain started to get much worse. i havent been offically diagnosed yet but i am currently making plans to see a gastrointestinal doctor. it truly does worry me that i read about all these peole that had to get their intestines removed. i think that is why i am procrastinating going to a doctor. i am just to the point where even that would be better than suffering 24/7.

hi i can sympathise with all of you that suffer with Crohns, i was diagnosed a year ago and spent 2 weeks in hospital and being treated with steroid injections and pentasa. i also had a flare up this year but just about kept it under control with oral steroids. however when i try to reduce the steroids my pain comes back. my stomach is quite distended and very tender to the touch together with battling the fatigue and eating only plain chicken, fish and root veg, rice.
i have had so much time off work that i feel embarrassed lucky for me they are very understanding.
